Roses from the south - April 21, 2018

Premiere of my new string orchestra piece, Roses from the South, commissioned by the Newport Youth Symphony Festival, in Newport Oregon. In this case, "the South" means South of the border between the United States and Mexico: each of the four movements represents a different flower indigenous to Mexico (and occasionally to California as well): Chocolate Cosmos, Mexican Passion Flower, Shaving Brush Tree, and Pineapple Sage. Newport Performing Arts Center, 7:30 p.m. Ticket info TBA.

WAGE PEACE - june 10, 2018

Celebrating their 30th anniversary, the award-winning Ragazzi Boys Chorus will premiere Wage Peace for chorus, French horn, and piano, commissioned specifically for this occasion. It will be the closing song on the concert, and will include all Ragazzi choirs. To read the poem Wage Peace, which was written by Judyth Hill on September 11, 2001, click here.
